
Cervical screening, which some people call a smear, is offered to all females with a cervix from the age of 25 years - 64 years as part of the national screening programme. This screening is a test to check the health of the cervix and help prevent cervical cancer.
If your cervical screening is due and you have received your invite letter from the screening programme (NHSCSP), then South Tyneside Sexual Health can offer an appointment for your cervical screening (which some people call their smear).
To arrange this once you have received your invite letter from NHSCSP contact the service and arrange your appointment.
